The returnees were mostly migrant workers who started their journey from Delhi on May 12.
The special train reached Guwahati railway station on Wednesday night amid the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the railway station to monitor the transit of the passengers to their home districts.
The Covid-19 response teams were deployed at the railway station for screening and health check-ups of passengers coming from outside the state by maintaining social distancing norms and following other government orders.
At least 130 passengers de-boarded at Guwahati railway station on Wednesday night.
The special train reached Dibrugarh railway station on Thursday morning. Passengers from different districts of Assam and neigbouring Arunachal Pradesh de-boarded at the Dibrugarh railway station.
Meanwhile, 15 positive cases for novel coronavirus were detected in Guwahati. Assam has reported 79 positive cases for Covid-19 so far.
The state government in Assam has made 14-day compulsory institutional or home quarantine for passengers travelling from outside the state.
