Dr. Venkat Arjunrao Gite, MBBS MS DNB Urology, MNAMS is Professor and Head, Department of Urology at Grant Medical College and JJ group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He is an undergraduate (MBBS) from S.R.T.R. Medical College Ambajogai, MS from Govt. Medical College, Aurangabad. He was an outstanding student and achieved many laurels in his academic career. He was awarded gold medal in MS general surgery. He passed DNB Urology from Apollo Health City Hospital, Hyderabad in 2010.
He has a keen interest in teaching with an experience of over 20 years. He has vast clinical experience. He was registrar Urology (observer) at AIIMS, New Delhi, Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital, Nadiad and Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He is the post graduate teacher and examiner for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Mch and DNB examinations across India. He is a hardcore teacher and runs a YouTube channel for clinical teaching of Mch and DNB students. He has many videos on operative surgeries, social and surgeon awareness on google.
He has many peer-reviewed published articles in reputed national and international journals. He has presented his work in various regional, state, and national conferences. He is specialised in various subspecialties of Urology like, Uro-oncology, endourology, andrology and transplant surgeries with a keen interest in reconstructive Surgery. He is the course director for reconstructive urology fellowship programme at Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai under the affiliation of MUHS University, Nashik. He performed the first cadaveric renal transplant in a government set up in the state of Maharashtra. He was been facilitated by the government of Maharashtra for his urological services towards the public in various health camps across the state of Maharashtra
