S.C.Parija

Prof. S.C.Parija was born in 23rd May 1964 in the temple city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He completed primary education from Govt primary School and Higher secondary education from Govt Boys’ High school, Unit I, Bhubaneswar in 1980. He was awarded with B.V.Sc & AH degree from Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar in the year 1987, Masters degree in Veterinary Pharmacology &Toxicology in the year 1990 from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, ICAR Deemed University. On Dt.23.03.1990 he started his carrier as Assistant Professor at OUAT, Bhubaneswar. He was awarded with Ph.D. degree in 1998 from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, ICAR Deemed University. In addition to his first class carrier throughout he was a recipient of National Scholarship for undergraduate studies, ICAR Junior Research Fellowship for Master degree and Senior Research Fellowship from ICAR & CSIR for Ph.D. Studies. In 2001, he was honoured with the prestigious Wellcome Trust Travelling Research Fellowship with a grant of £185,000 from United Kingdom to persue his post-doctoral research on the project entitled “Promiscuity of receptor-transduction coupling: Cardiac adenosine A1 receptor:” at Cardiff University, Wales ,United Kingdom for 2 years. Again in 2003 awarded with Welcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship for another grant of £185,000 to continue with this project. He was selected as Assistant Professor in 1990, Associate professor in 1999 and Professor in 2007 in Department of pharmacology & Toxicology. He has guided 33 Masters and 12 Ph.D. students in his field of research, undertaken 5 research projects, published research in 40 international and 50 national journals, written 3 laboratory manuals and 2 book chapters. Received 28 different prestigious honorary awards and four honorary fellow from different national and international scientific societies. He has been a life Member of 13 scientific societies and social organizations.
