Shoji Matsumoto is an associate professor at Chiba University. He received his M. degree (1995) and Ph. D. (1998) from Tokyo Institute of Technology. From 1998, he worked at Chiba University as an assistant professor. He promoted to an associate professor at Chiba University in 2009. He is now an associate professor of Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University. His current research interests include synthetic organic chemistry, iodine chemistry, and functional material sciences (fluorescent material, electric conducting material, and so on). He is a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), the Chemical Society of Japan, the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, and the Society of Iodine Science (SIS).
