Gabriel Lajus Barrabeitg

Graduated as a Doctor of Medicine in 1980. Awarded Doctor of Sciences and 1st and 2nd Degree Specialist in Psychiatry, Diploma in Psychotherapy and master’s in social Psychiatry, he worked at the National Mental Health Center of Cuba and later at the University of Medical Sciences in Havana, psychotherapist in Addictions and Neurotic Disorders, introduced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy in Cuba studied at the East/Wind Institute of Canada. Also awarded for excellent results in assistance, teaching, research, managerial work and editorial as director of the Scientific Journal of Medical Services, achieving excellent results. He has taught pre and postgraduate courses at two foreign universities and Cuba. He has written three books on addictions that are used in medical sciences courses, related professions, master’s and doctorates in medical sciences. He has developed, for more than 25 years, the line of research in addictions, domestic violence, drugs of abuse in general and, more recently, emerging drugs. Member of the academic committee and faculty of the master’s degrees in Community Mental Health, Prevention of Drug Abuse and Criminal Psychology. He has published multiple articles in national and foreign journals of high scientific impact and has more than 26 honors and other recognitions and awards obtained in Cuba and other countries. The most relevant were: Annual Scientific Award for Sciences, Best Doctoral Thesis, Best Researcher and Best Scientific and Technological Result in Cuba, INTERNATIONAL Outstanding Researcher Award-2024 and INTERNATIONAL Excellent Scientist Award-2024. Professor and Senior Researcher at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, he has won multiple forum awards, published in journals and is characterized by teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Professor Tiza de Oro on two occasions. Professor of Psychotherapy at his center and at other university centers, making contributions to multi-thrust psychotherapy for years, which he wrote, published and was awarded. Likewise, he tutors and advises theses at all levels of psychiatry and other related specialties. He is a member of Examination Boards for Changes in Higher Teaching Categories, president of examination boards at all levels, pre and state. He has always worked as head of a medical-psychiatric service. More recently, he has worked at the Postgraduate and Research Department of the Victoria de Girón School of Medical Sciences, Cuba, where he directs the doctoral training process, as a Scientific Degree Methodological Advisor. He belongs to scientific societies such as: Full Member of the Cuban Society of Psychiatry, of Neurosciences of Cuba, Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Association of Latin American Pharmacists, Association of Latin American Psychiatrists, Life Member of the World Research Council, Life Member of the American Chamber of Research.
