Dr. A. Arif Yezdani, BDS, MDS, PhD, FAGE, FWFO, FDS RCS (Eng),
Professor and Director, Dept. of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Currently working as a Professor and Director, Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, India. He completed his BDS in 1985, MDS in Orthodontia in 1989 and PhD in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics in March, 2022. Was conferred Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE) on 01-02-1987 and FWFO (Fellow of World Federation of Orthodontists) on 25-09-2009 and FDS RCS (Eng) on 01-01-2023.
He has 35 years of teaching, clinical and research experience to his credit. His research areas of interest include Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics, Fixed Functional Appliances, Temporary Anchorage Devices and Biologic Skeletal Maturity Indicators in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He has presented various scientific papers both in national and international conferences, symposiums, workshops & CDE programmes and published numerous publications in peer-reviewed PubMed and Scopus indexed International and National journals.

He has worked as a Consultant and Specialist in prestigious Specialist Dental Centres of Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 1989, he was awarded “The President’s Rolling Trophy” and Certificate for “Best Clinical Paper Presentation” at the 24th Indian Orthodontic Conference, held at Trivandrum, India. Was also awarded the 3rd prize in the “Clinical Innovation Category”, at the 45th Indian Orthodontic Conference held in 2010 at Mangalore, India. He was conferred the “Best Teacher” award in 2014 by the Vice-Chancellor of Bharath University, Chennai, India. He won the Best Poster Award at the 19th American Dental Congress held from 8-10th Dec., 2016, at Phoenix, Arizona, USA and the “Best Dental Educator Award” (International Award of Excellence Dental Awards 2018) at the World Dental and Oral Health Congress held in London, UK and best “Guide” in the speciality of Orthodontics in the Research Fest”, held on 6th & 7th January 2023 at Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, India as also conferred ICON of INDIA-2023 award for contribution in Research & Development in Academics on 08-03-2023, by Saveetha School of Management, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Institute for Social Reforms and Higher Education Charitable Trust, Uttar Pradesh (India) at Saveetha Dental College Campus, Chennai, India as also awarded the “International Best Researcher Award” for Research and Excellence in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the ISSN International Research Awards and Congress 2024 held on 23rd June 2024, at Grandeur Hall, Hotel Breeze Residency, India as also conferred with numerous other commendation awards, plaques & trophies for convening 213 scientific clinical society meetings in Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, India.
