Myself Dr. S. Shamala a Dental surgeon & Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist , presently working as Professor & HOD in Adhiparasakthi Dental college and hospital Melmaruvathur, Tamilnadu, India . My speciality is Teaching undergraduate & Postgraduate students in the field of Dentistry and also in the Microscopic Diagnosis of various oral diseases especially focussing on Oral cancer & precancerous disorders . My interest also lies in motivating and guiding students in research interventions & publications.I am also into practising general dentistry privately for more than 25 yrs in a metropolitan city Chennai.In our institution presently heading the research committee with many research works by students especially in the field of salivary analysis detecting various Biomarkers in oral diseases .I am also appointed as infection control officer in our institution which is NABH accredited.I have conducted a National & many state level conferences as organising chairperson and also conducted workshops on salivary analysis,salivary DNA extraction and also special investigation procedure like Immunohistochemistry in diagnosis and accessing prognosis of oral cancerous lesions.Narried to a dental surgeon Dr G.Ravikumar and blessed with two sons R.Keerthivasan & R.Manoj Rajan both qualified in the field of technology. As member of the Rotary club am also into social works like conducting dental camps creating awareness to the public regarding oral diseases especially creating anti tobacco awareness in avoiding oral cancer .
