Dr Gourangie Gogoi, presently working as Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, Assam. Obtained MBBS in 1992 and MD degree in 2000 from Assam Medical College. Joined as Demonstrator of Community Medicine in 2001 and served in various capacities in different medical colleges of Assam, spanning more than 24 years up to the present position of professor. Completed ICMR Task force projects on nutrition and antimicrobial resistance as principal investigator. published more than fifteen research papers in different reputed journals. Conducted supportive supervision and monitoring activities for different health programs. As an academician, is also involved in training and faculty development programs for both under graduate and post graduate teachers of medical colleges. More than eight post graduate students have completed their research work and as many under graduates were mentored for their student projects. Apart from professional commitments, also involved in community service in the sphere of palliative care for end stage morbidities and cancers. Also involved in editorial work for institutional level publications and annual reports, as well as reviewer for various scientific journals.
