Dr Mary Walton is a Faculty at College of Nursing, Gulf Medical University from January 2021 till date. She has a Doctoral Degree in Nursing, in the speciality of Medical Surgical Nursing. She is a Faculty in Nursing for the past 27 years. She has worked as a Deputy Nursing Superintendent in a Dual role for 6 years at St John’s College of Nursing and St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore and as a Cardiothoracic nurse for 2 years at Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Her areas of interest are palliative care, oncology, geriatrics, neurology, orthopaedics, critical care and qualitative research. She has organized & been a presenter at various International and National workshops and conferences.
Currently she has been actively involved in Preceptorship Training of Nurses in UAE under Ministry Of Health And Prevention (MOHAP) & Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah & Umm Al Quwain, Ministry of Presidential Affairs. She was also involved in Cast Application Training for Nurses in UAE (MOPA & GMU) & Geriatric Home Care training for Emirates Health Services. She has a passion for Research and has guided UG & PG nursing students and nurses in various projects. She has been a resource person for various Research Conferences. She has received Best Paper award at 10th international Nurses Conference: ‘Expedite Nursing Vision” at Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai. For the topic–“Effectiveness of high Iron mix on the Haemoglobin status of adolescent girls.” She has 20 publications in International & National journals including Scopus indexed journals (5). She is currently a Mentor for the National Nursing & Midwifery Research Mentorship Program in UAE
