I am Dr.S. Rajalakshmi Baskaran, born in the year 1975,26th November at Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. Completed schooling and up to college, achieved gold medal in my graduation (BZC)in Botany subject from the same native place. After that joined B.Sc. Nursing in the year 1996 at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupathi. Soon after completion worked as staff nurse for 6 months at the same institute and later placed as nursing tutor at Apollo School of nursing and within a short time promoted as assistant lecturer to Apollo College of Nursing, Hyderabad and worked till 2003.
In 2003 joined in M. Sc. Nursing Program me at Rani Meyyammai College of Nursing, Annamalai University, Chidambaram with Obstetrics and Gynecology nursing as a specialized area. After my PG completion Joined as Assistant Professor at upgraded up to vice-principal and Principal I/C at Dayananda Sagar College of Nursing, Bangalore.
In the year 2010 joined at Reader at Sri Manakula Vinayagar College of Nursing, Puducherry which is the home town of my Husband Mr. S, Baskaran. Excel professional excellence by taking active role in both academic and administrative work along with the organizational protocol and involved actively in the research activity done by our PG students.
Has been a certified counselling specialist of Breast Feeding after undergoing successful training programme conducted by Breast Feeding Promotion Network India (BPNI).
Enthusiastically trained both UG and PG students worked at various levels of students, motivated them and guided them to achieve the University Gold Medals from the academic examination conducted by Pondicherry University. As a part my professional growth and development joined for PH. D in nursing programme at Annamalai University under the Guide ship of Dr.S. Kalavathi Elangovan, Former Principal and HOD of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing. Achieved Doctorial Award in the year 2017 from the hands of. Honorable Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu.
At presently holding the position of Principal, at Sri Lakshmi Narayana College of Nursing (SLIMS Campus), Puducherry, under Bharath University (Deemed to be University) , Chennai.
As been as an active member in the board of studies at Annamalai University, Examiner and Paper Evaluator at different University (Annamalai University, Vinayaka Missions University, Savitha University, Pondicherry University, MGR University). Worked at Swatch Bharath co-ordinator and adapted a village, and conducted various programme scheduled by Government of India.
Member of SOMI (Puduchery Chapter), Editorial Committee member for PJN journal published by Mahatma Gandhi Vidhya Peth, Puducherry. Recognised Research Guide for PG and Ph.D. students and also doctorial committee member at Vinayaka Mission, Salem.
Would like to work more and should show more contribution towards the growth of the profession, always believes the concept Hard work never fails. And feeling proud to be a nursing professional.
