Dr. Chris Antony

Dr. Chris Antony is an ardent researcher in the field of Ayurveda especially Ayurvedic Pediatrics. She graduated in Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Pankajakasthuri Ayurveda Medical College Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 2009 and completed her postgraduation in Kaumarabhritya from Government Ayurveda College Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in 2014. She is presently undergoing training in Clinical Research Methods from Indian Institute of Public Health, New Delhi. She is also the winner of All India Ayurvedic Essay Competition-2008-Vaidyaratnam PS Varier Prize- for essay on Udavarttam Second place, Ashtavaidyan Padmasri ET Neelakandhan Mooss Award for Best Thesis Presentation at Junior level on the topic “Importance of Moordhatailas in the Present Era” 2007 and Vaidyabhooshana Puraskaram 2007-Vaidyabhooshanam K Raghavan Thirumulppad Foundation for Ayurvedic studies. Essay- Second Best Entry- “Vyadhi: Pathyaadeva Nivarthathe.”

She has more than 3 years of Research experience in the Central Council of Ayurvedic Sciences, the apex body for Research in Ayurveda in India. She has 4 research papers to her credit and was part of 6 major research projects of CCRAS. She has 6 years’ experience in the Government sector beginning as Medical Officer Ayurveda and Lecturer in Kaumarabhritya to presently Research Officer Ayurveda. Her major contribution is in the field of Ayurvedic Pediatrics or Kaumarabhritya through her review articles- ‘Ksheeralasaka vis-à-vis Cow’s Milk Allergy: A critical review’, ‘Ahiputana vis-à-vis Diaper dermatitis: A review’ and ‘Kumaragara, Rakshakarma and Special Care Neonatal Unit: A critical review.’ She has also authored ‘A scoping review on the health outcomes on Suvarnaprashana in apparently healthy children’ which is in press and also conducted a ‘KAP survey on Prashana in neonates among Ayurvedic Practitioners of India’ which is being written. She is also conducting another survey on postnatal and child care practices prevalent in District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India along with fellow researchers. She has worked as Principal Investigator and Co-investigator on various projects undertaken by CCRAS especially in Type II Diabetes, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Sub-clinical Hypothyroidism, CoViD-19, Bronchial Asthma and Iron Deficiency Anemia.
She is eager to continue her research in neonatal care through Ayurveda, Immunology and Ayurveda, Fundamental research in Ayurveda, Pediatric neurology and Ayurveda and Developmental disorders and Ayurveda.
