I am Dr. Shweta Chauhan, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Ipcowala Naturopathy and Yoga Center in Vadodara, Gujarat. I commenced my academic journey at Mahavir College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences in Nagpura, Durg, Chhattisgarh, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and Yoga in 2008. Furthering my education at Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA University) in Bangalore, I successfully completed my Ph.D. in Yoga and Life Sciences, concluding with the final defense in December 2023.
With approximately 15 years of clinical experience in Naturopathy and Yoga, my professional path began as a Naturopathy and Yoga consultant at Nature Cure Center in Juhu, Mumbai, and Arogya Polyclinic & Health Care Centre in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai. I served as a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Nisargopachar Kendra in Gotri, Vadodara, and Balwantray Mehta Arogya Bhavan in Vadodara. Additionally, I held the position of Reader at Morarji Desai Institute of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences in Vadodara. I also worked as Chief Medical Officer at K R Naturopathy and Yoga Center, Surat.
My areas of interest are exclusively in clinical practice and research. Notable achievements include earning excellence certificates in 9 subjects during my BNYS studies, securing the 1st rank in college with an aggregate of 80% in BNYS. I received the Venkat Rao Fellowship Award in 2006 and qualified the AYUSH NET exam in 2017 with an all-India rank of 7. As a Reiki 3rd degree master healer, I emphasize my commitment to holistic wellness.
Throughout my Ph.D. program, I published three research papers, including two randomized control trials (RCT) and one review article in journals such as Towards Excellence, Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, and Yoga Mimamsa, respectively. My RCTs primarily focused on highlighting the effects of Yoga and Naturopathy on uncomplicated varicose vein disease. I aspire to conduct more studies showcasing the effects of Naturopathy and Yoga on various diseases, particularly lifestyle disorders. In the near future, my focus will include conducting additional clinical trials on vascular diseases.
